SPRING 2012
VOLUME 2 NUMBER 1
Hello, Hello, RED OCHRE Family,
It has been a long winter’s hibernation, but we are back in action with our Spring Issue: VOLUME 2 NUMBER 1. As many of you know, RED OCHRE LiT recently transitioned into a quarterly publication and we are thrilled to present our first compilation of the year with literature by Jacqueline Marcus, Carlos Hiraldo, Gedda Ilves, Keith Moul, Shitsugane Olembo, Martin Willitts Jr., Sirenna Blas, Tanya Jacob, Patty Somlo, and Kami Westhoff.
As an international journal, we are also excited to showcase poetry by E. Amato, w/ French translations by Dr. Catherine Webster.
Of course we ask that you purchase an $8USD copy of the issue, understanding that all monies funnel directly into our Southeast Asia fund. This year our literary missions will be taking place in Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines! If you are familiar with our press then you know that your support helped us with our missions to Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala last year. Due to our efforts, we humbly ask that you support our literature, as well as your underprivileged, student siblings in our “Literature For A Cause” movement.
Lastly, I ask that you join me in congratulating our Editor-in-Chief, Mimi Ferebee, who will be giving birth to her first child on August 25th! She and Melvin are too excited about their bundle of joy, so feel free to send her your warm thoughts via email or Facebook.
All Great Things,
Val Michaels

RED OCHRE PRESS
publishes compilations of premier, contemporary literature.
Resoiling the grains of our literary ancestors,
our works are not only innovative and captivating,
but also bound by hand--
a testament of our belief that literature and the craft
that preserves it are not dying pastimes.
We are a proud member of the Council of Literary Magazines and Presses
and utterly grateful to have the support of our brother journal, James Dickey Review,
Poets & Writers, NewPages & Downtown Writers Network.
We often nominate work for notable contests such as The Pushcart Prize and The O. Henry Prize.
